This is a page for Death metal/Deathcore/Metalcore screaming. All are very different, but all have a similar technique. I'm also going to cover annunciation, as no one seems to cover it in other articles.
Steps
1. Use your diaphragm. This is the most important tool for strong vocal delivery. You want to tense your abs and breathe through your diaphragm, really force the air. Not all at once though, conserve it.
2. Close your throat. Close it so when you talk normally it comes out slightly choked.
3. Depending on the scream you want to do, try to move where the sound comes out. Low screams should come from the top of your throat, just above your larynx. High screams should be more nasal, and come from higher up in the throat.
4. Remember that annunciation is the key to a good scream. It's the difference between Randy Blythe (good scream) and Oli Sykes (bad scream). You want to be able to hear every word as clearly as if you were talking normally.
5. Put all your energy into the screams if performing them live, it really does make for a better show.
Tips
* DRINK MILK. If you drink milk, it creates phlegm that lines your throat, giving a more raspy scream and protecting your vocal chords at the same time.
Warnings
* Do not try to scream loudly. It will damage your vocal chords beyond belief. You have a mic in front of you, you could whisper and they'd hear you. Screaming loudly is not the key, it's screaming with power, not volume.
